Eze Ndigbo of Akure Dethroned

Eze Ndigbo of Akure Dethroned..."You Can't have a palace in Akure".

The Eze Ndigbo of Akure, Eze Grail illoson was dethroned in Akure on Monday the 12th of October 2015
by HRH Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo (Odundun ll).

It was reported that His royal highness, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo (Odundun ll) went with his entourage on monday to the 'palace' of the Eze Ndigbo of Akure to issue a stern warning to the Eze on the choice of keeping a palace and being enthroned 'king' on an ancestral land he doesn't belong to, Oba Aladetoyinbo iterated that there can't be two kings and two palaces in a community.

In was reported that Oba Aladetoyinbo said "I have nothing against you and your fellow Igbos, you have a right to associate freely, however, erecting a palace and being enthroned king is an abomination to our ancestral heritage".

Is this really necessary? The powers to decide who is a ruler or who designates his house a palace should lie with civil authorities and not traditional rulers.
